Footage from a World Health Organization summit last month is prompting concern after a member of the global health body urged the implementation of a pandemic “simulation exercise.”
At a May 22 meeting of the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB), co-chair Joy Phumaphi proposed the simulation be used to test new International Health Regulations (IHR) “to ensure their success” before being adopted.
Last week, @theGPMB co-Chair @JoyPhumaphi_ spoke at various #WHA76 events. She highlighted the Board's work, including the Manifesto for Preparedness & the Monitoring Framework publication. She also proposed a simulation exercise to help inform #globalhealth reforms on #PPPR. pic.twitter.com/n74SYeIlBY
