A 44-year-old vaccinated female MSNBC host was hospitalized for nearly 10 days for heart inflammation, blaming her sudden rare illness on “the common cold.”

MSNBC weekend host Yasmin Vossoughian explained to viewers on Saturday that she’d been absent from the airwaves in recent weeks because she was hospitalized for over a week due to heart inflammation.

“I’ve been dealing with a little bit of a health scare. On December 20, I began to feel chest pains, and they waxed and waned over a period of 10 days,” she said. “I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it.

She then went to urgent care on December 30 after experiencing what she thought was a “heart attack,” which she said was odd given her vegetarian lifestyle and fitness habits.

The urgent care physicians diagnosed Vossoughian with pericarditis — inflammation in the lining of the heart — which she insisted was brought on by “the common cold” despite undergoing a procedure to have fluid drained from the sac around her heart.

After finally being discharged after four days, Vossoughian explained that days later she was hospitalized again, this time for myocarditis, for five more nights.

After that whole ordeal, Vossoughian said she still blames her heart inflammation on “a literal cold.

“And in fact, in the end, it was just a cold that was doing all of this, that caused all of this inflammation in and around my heart,” she claimed, adding that her arrhythmia symptoms “continue to wax and wane.”
