WATCH: Cartel Gunman Aims at Texas Police Chopper Before Firefight With Mexican Military

Five cartel members killed, four arrested during battle near Rio Grande

A major firefight erupted on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande after a cartel gunman aimed a rifle at a Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) chopper, according to reports.

Footage taken from a TxDPS helicopter flying in Starr County, TX, shows a man standing near a red SUV in Mexico and pointing a rifle multiple times at the aircraft as it flies overhead.

“They have an AK-47 they just pointed at us,” a trooper can be heard saying in a radio transmission.
