Sen. Lindsey Graham Booed After Telling Fundraiser Attendees to “Think About” Getting Vaccinated

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) received pushback from his own supporters after his call for them to “think about” getting vaccinated against COVID-19 was met with a chorus of boos.

The incident occurred during a fundraising event at the Summerville Country Club in Dorchester County.

“If you haven’t had the vaccine you oughta think about getting it because at your age…,” said Graham.

The crowd, which consisted mainly of people over the age of 50, responded by either booing or shouting “no!”

“I didn’t tell you to get it, you oughta think about it,” Graham responded.

The Senator then tried to convince the reluctant crowd by asserting that 92% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 in South Carolina are unvaccinated.

This didn’t impress one man, who shouted at Graham, “I’m gonna lose my job in 60 days, you gotta stop it now!”

The Navy veteran than engaged in a back and forth with Graham, prompting the Senator to ask the crowd, “How many of you have taken measles shots?”

“It’s not the same!” responded several members of the crowd.

Graham went on to say that mandatory vaccines for military service members was a “dumb idea” because it would deter people from signing up.
